Tuesday 22nd July 2014:
Today I am thankful for wood. Parts of my lovely home are built from it, the table and chairs we sit at are shaped from it, the trees that surround us are made from it, the decking we sit on is carved from it, even the bowl we have our fruit in is crafted from it.
It is amazing in its natural form and when utilised it is made useful and beautiful in our every day lives.
I took an old piece of scrap wood and painted the word ‘eucharisteo’ on it – the Greek word meaning thanksgiving, to be thankful. I marvelled at how even a scrap piece of wood could be beautiful.
Today I am thankful for wood, in its every form.
